Ingredients

For the Blondies:

  • 3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Malted Milk powder (I used Nestle brand)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4-6 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup Malted Milk powder (I used Nestle brand)
  • 4-6 tablespoons heavy cream (or milk of your choice)
  • Chopped Whoppers Robin Egg malted candy & Hershey’s Candy Coated Easter Eggs for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Into a medium bowl whisk together the flour, malted milk powder, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a large bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter and sugars until fully incorporated. Then, add the eggs, one at a time, and beat until blended. With the mixer on low, add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Dump the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-32 minutes; until a toothpick inserted to the middle comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool on a rack. When cool, make frosting.
  5. For the frosting: In a large bowl of a stand mixer, add the butter and beat on high for 5 minutes until light and fluffy. Turn your mixer to low and add malted milk powder and mix until smooth, then add the confectioners sugar and heavy cream and beat on high for 5 minutes. Adjust with more sugar or cream depending on the consistency you like.
  6. Frost the cooled cake ce the cake onto a serving tray and pour the drizzle on top. Sprinkle with orange zest. Slice into pieces and serve.
