Hi, I’m Sheila and I have a passion for everything sweet!  I love eating sweet things, creating sweet things, and most of all I love baking sweet things.  This love affair with sweetness began when I was a little girl and has woven through my entire life. I was inspired by my wonderful mom, who taught me how to bake when I was about 3 years old (see image below). She would make amazing cakes for birthdays and holidays and delicious homemade breads almost every day!

I was the child who was never hungry for dinner, but when dessert was offered I was starving, when dining out as a teen I was the one who always looked at the dessert menu first to know how much dinner to order, and am now the one who is always asked to bake a tasty dessert for anything from a special occasion to a casual after dinner treat!

I am always being asked, “how did you make that?”, “what did you put in that?”, and “can I have the recipe for that?”  So, with this blog I am now able to share with you my sweet recipes, cooking adventures, and other little snippets of my life.

I share my sweet crazy life with my wonderful husband and my amazing son in Northern California.  My “boys” are just as much, if not more addicted to sweets that I am.  They are my biggest fans, official tasters (really rough job, I know!) and toughest critics (easy too, the mostly love everything I bake).   I have always loved pink, own a large and varied collection of cookbooks, salivate when getting any new kitchen gadgets, and am obsessed with photography and organizing things.

When I’m not busy with my family or whipping up something delicious, you’ll find me involved at my other passion — all things communications!

So get your taste buds ready with napkin in hand as we take this mouth-watering adventure through my Sweet Baked Life!

Your description of browsing restaurant menus (checking out desserts first, of course!) is so fitting for me too. And goodness knows we have plenty of good options in Northern California! 🙂 So glad you stopped by my blog, and happy baking!
