Get ready to snuggle up with mug of this fabulous Spiced and Spiked Hot Apple Cider. You’ll definitely find me in the kitchen whipping up a batch of two of this satisfying cider over the holidays — my guests always rave about it! I even make it in smaller quantities over the weekends (sans the “spike” for my son) so that my entire family can enjoy this warm and yummy drink. Not only does it taste good, but your home will be filled with the wonderfully warm and comforting aromas of apples and cinnamon!
Spiced and Spiked Hot Apple Cider
(note, you can make this with out the “spike”)
2 quarts Apple Cider (your favorite)
1 large orange, sliced
4 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon whole cloves
1 oz. Tuaca citrus liqueur (for each spiked serving)
Freshly whipped cream (for garnish)
Ground cinnamon (for garnish)
Ground nutmeg (for garnish)
Pour apple cider into a large pot and add oranges, cinnamon sticks and cloves. Turn heat to medium and bring to a soft boil. Turn down the heat and let simmer on your stove until ready to consume!
To serve, add 1 oz. Tuaca into a glass coffee mug. Ladle the warmed apple cider until full and top with whipped cream and garnish with a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg.
This Spiced and Spiked Hot Apple Cider will definitely warm you as the wind begins to whip around outside!
Here’s to the fall — Cheers!
